^ Festive Dressing sorted! 4 Great items to look out for second hand
It’s that time of year again!! The shops are full of sparkly clothes tempting you to spend and add more items to your wardrobe BUT how often will you really wear that new party dress??
I am all for dressing up this festive season but before you go on a shopping spree take a moment to consider how you could possibly restyle an item you already own. You could take some inspiration from some of the outfits above. Alternatively you could invest in a second hand item which will see you through and is kinder on your pocket and the environment.
Here are 4 suggestions of items which are always great investments and which you can always find second hand. Trust me you will be rewearing and restyling for years to come!
Party dresses - look out for slip dresses which can be dressed up with different accessories, here I have paired my red one with gold shoes and bag. Slip dresses can easliy be layered with sweaters and boots for daytime glamour too!
Sparkly dresses - there is always a great selection in the charity shops. This purple dress cost me £15 and is super comfortable. Keep the fashion cyle going by only buying second hand sparkle. Every year 1.7 million sequinned items are binned after the festive season - shocking isn’t it?? If you are bored with a previous purchase always donate it or use a clothing bin where it can be recycled.
Silk blouses - super easy to pick up second hand. They look elegant styled with jeans and heels - always a failsafe outfit! You can layer with cardigans and gilets too for daytime looks.
Statement jackets - look out for velvet blazers like my maroon one here, unusual patterns or prints. Simply add a camisole, jeans and heels and you are good to go! Wear with skirts too or smart black trousers.
If you shop second hand from a charity shop you are supporting some wonderful causes too - win win!
Why not make this festive season your most stylish yet!!
