Beat The January Blues! Some Uplifting Style And Self Care Tips

Do you suffer from the January blues?

I know I do! Sometimes it can seem like the longest month ever and there are still quite a few dark winter days to get through before Spring.

I always find a few simple things can lift my mood so have a read of my tips below and why not give some of them a try?!

  1. Wear Some Colour - Colour has been proven to have an uplifting effect and I promise that if you add something colourful to your outfit you will feel more cheerful. You could go full on with colourful clothing or try a colourful accessory such as a bag, scarf or earrings.

  2. Pop On Some Print - If you can’t seem to get out of your dark colours another way to to brighten up your outfit is to wear some print - leopard print, snake print, breton stripes, gingham you name it! You’ll feel more polished and put together ready to tackle those dark mornings!

  3. Accessorize - Indulging over the festive period has left some of my clothes feeling a little snugger than usual! If you are feeling similar don’t forget that jewellery alawys fits! Pop on your favourite earrings, necklace or bracelet even if you are just popping to the shops and you will feel like you have made an effort!

  4. Pamper Yourself - this is so important all year round but particularly in January and during the winter when we all need a pick me up. Find some time in your day to indulge in a magazine or a book, have a bubble bath, do your nails and you will feel calmer and more relaxed.

  5. Plan some dates with friends - make time for those people who make you smile. Even if it just a coffee or a quick drink. Don’t let daily commitments and chores get the better of you get those dates in!

  6. Declutter - A tidy environment is calming and good for our mental health. While we are stuck indoors for longer over the winter why not make time to get some things in order. Start with yur wardrobe, Once you have it sorted you will be able to get dressed easier and save yourself some time too!
