^ 5 Essentials for Swinter
Where has the summer gone?! As I write the weather is a strange mix of warmish temperatures, rain and wind. I’m sure last summer somebody in a magazine coined the phrase ‘swinter’ which I feel sums it up perfectly!
The important question is how can we style out this weird season before summer (hopefully) returns!
I have put together 5 essentials that I am relying on and which should help!
1 A lightweight mac. It’s still warm so you don’t want to be sweating in a bulky raincoat. Invest in a foldable mac which you can store in your bag and then pop over your outfit if you get caught in a shower.
2 A bright and colourful unbrella. Well why not? We can’t stop the rain but we can add a bit of fun to our outfits!
3 A grey sweatshirt. Believe me when I say this is THE most useful piece in my wardrobe right now. I throw it over a dress, tuck it onto my jeans, tie it around my waist. It’s an extra layer that goes with everything and is lighter than a sweater.
4 Leather/waterproof trainers. It is still warm enough for bare ankles but sandals and plimsoles are too flimsy for swinter. Pair your waterproof trainers with your summer dresses.
5 Chunky loafers. These are perfect for your office swinter wardrobe where trainers might be too casual. Chunky soles will save you from the puddles and are stylish and comfortable.
I hope these tips will help you to style out swinter!!
